Marketing Week 2026: The Week That Brought Marketing to Life: AMa Blog #3

Franchesca Nevaeh Tamayo

AMA Baruch's Marketing Week 2026 brought together five days of industry insight, meaningful connections, and AMA-zing prizes. Held Monday through Friday from March 23 to March 27, the week gave students direct access to marketing and media professionals across some of today's most recognizable brands, all under this year's Denim theme.

Each day featured a conversation with a professional who has built a career worth learning from. Robert Garcia, Director of Media Strategy & Planning at the NBA, opened the week with Courtside to Campaigns, offering perspective on sports media and his trajectory through agencies including Carat, Essence Global, and Horizon Media. Abdullah Mahdi, a Baruch alumnus now at Comcast, spoke about what it means to manage $1M+ advertising budgets for Fortune 500 brands in From Baruch to $1M+ Ad Budgets.

Kym Lino of Peloton led The Marketing Marathon, a workshop-style session drawing from her experience shaping product marketing strategies at Walmart, Twitter, Instagram, and Yahoo. John Shin shared his journey from Baruch AMA President to Google, where he now oversees a $700M portfolio, a testament to what intentional growth looks like over time. Closing out the week, Alanys Borges Almestica, a Baruch alumna and Programmatic Associate at Ulta, walked attendees through the intersection of data and multi-channel media in Where Data Meets Media. Each day came with a new raffle, and the lineup was stacked:

Day 1 - NBA Knicks Jersey

Day 2 - Portable Hotspot/Charger

Day 3 - Beats Headphones

Day 4 - Google Nest

Day 5 - Nintendo Switch Lite

On top of the daily draws, attendees had a shot at everyday raffles from Hero Cosmetics and Good Molecules, plus a Nami Matcha coupon code and the exclusive AMA Denim Kit Giveaway. Marketing Week is a reflection of what AMA Baruch is built on: shaping today’s students to become the next generation of marketers. Marketing Week is a reminder of what becomes possible when students are in the same room as the people who have already built what they are working toward. This year's turnout reflected just that, and it's a standard we're committed to carrying forward. - •
